Synovus Place has been named a finalist in the 2026 Global Digital Signage Awards in the Omni-Channel Design and Execution category. A longstanding DBSI partner, Synovus is recognized for its flagship branch digital signage ecosystem, which goes beyond standalone screens to create a connected, high-impact experience across both physical and digital channels.
Located steps from Synovus headquarters in Columbus, Georgia, Synovus Place is the result of a multi-year effort to transform digital signage from a collection of disconnected screens into a unified, omnichannel experience. With DBSI as its strategic partner, Synovus evolved from basic content management conversions to a fully integrated content strategy that extends across signage, overhead music, and mobile-enabled tools. The flagship branch, completed in October 2024, now serves as both a showcase and a scalable blueprint for future remodels.
To kick off the project, Synovus executives visited DBSI’s Ideation Center in Chandler, Arizona, for a three-day strategy session that explored a new “design kit of parts” paired with a signage content strategy. The work went beyond screen placement to align software and hardware standards, content types, and budgets—reframing digital signage as a system that delivers brand consistency at scale while allowing local flexibility. That alignment became the foundation for Synovus Place.
This partnered approach transformed scattered screens and legacy systems into a unified communications platform for Synovus, connecting headquarters, 240+ branches, and the flagship destination. By aligning technology, content, and experiential design, Synovus Place demonstrates how digital signage can function as the connective tissue between physical and digital client interactions.
What makes this truly an award-winning project is the strategy behind the screens. Together, Synovus and DBSI developed a modular content framework and governance approach that ensures brand consistency while allowing local teams the flexibility to add regional relevance, from market-specific rates to community highlights. The outcome is an omnichannel blueprint that scales beyond the flagship, with additional branches currently underway and a roadmap for completing all conversions across the network.
