Highlights from the Digital Signage Expo: What Branches Need to Know

Highlights from the Digital Signage Expo: What Branches Need to Know

Recently DBSI’s Digital Signage Agency team headed to biggest show for screens—the Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas—to preview the latest innovations that could soon come to a branch near you.

The team took home a DSE award and studied all the upcoming digital signage tech and trends.

Some of the coolest screens on display were the eye-catching OLEDs, which offer dazzling colors on incredibly thin screens. LG’s OLED Twister displayed amazing flexibility, going from concave to flat to convex in a matter of seconds. Another OLED screen offered easy wall attachment and removal with magnets.

Large, high-impact, interactive screens grabbed a lot of attention, but smaller and more intimate screens were also well represented throughout the show.

“We saw quite a few very effective large-tablet-sized interactive standalone kiosks that allow for more condensed content, since most users are familiar with that sizing on a tablet platform,” said DBSI Art Director, Matt Lu.

Attending the DSE gives the Digital Signage Agency to opportunity to keep their “creative juices flowing” and stay well informed on latest and greatest tech they can bring to clients, said Jared Sletten, digital account manager.

For more forward-looking financial institutions, there were plenty examples of interactive and dynamic solutions, ready to provide a more contemporary retail experience to branches.

Digital bleeding edge tech, from clear screens and VR to augmented reality and interactive at a distance, also offered an exciting glimpse of what’s to come.

“DSE is the breeding ground for new screen technology, and I’m excited to see what our Digital team will be inspired to create as some of the really crazy tech hits the market,” Lu said. “The future is here, and while I still don’t have a hoverboard, I’m stoked about the digital signage that we’re going to bring to life.”
